A Few Days With No Rain

Several nice days in a row is great. As the weather had been so bad up until now, we decided that we should try and make the most of it. There was a spot in Ballybunion that we had seen a few pictures of. It looked lovely, so we decided to go for the sunset and see how it would go! We wanted to go to Virgin Rock, near ‘Nuns Beach’.

Cliff Walk to Virgin Rock

After parking the car, we headed tor the cliff walk. As there was a high tide, we decided not to head down using the rope rail via the ‘Convent Walk’. As we rounded the cliff we found the Virgin Rock and found a spot to set up. We climbed over the little fence and began getting our equipment set up. As the light was very nice, I decided to shoot a panorama of the area. This turned out pretty well!

Utilizing the Cliff Walk

As the sun was setting out to sea, it was hard to frame a shot that encompassed the sunset. After looking around and testing a few shots, I decided to use the cliff walk pathway as a leading line to the sunset and the fence as a frame. I toyed with using my 16mm and 8mm lenses. The 8mm looked a bit better to me!

Timelapse

I took a timelapse or two there also. Instead of posting them here, I want to hold them back and make a complete video! Hopefully that will be coming soon!
