Looking to Go Somewhere
As it was a lovely day, Kathryn and myself were dying to travel somewhere for a bit of an adventure and some photos! We had a discussion on where we could go – Clare and Kerry were the two destinations we ended up with. We decided to go with Kerry. We didn’t really have a spot in mind so we just looked at a map and picked a nice bit of coastline. We had never been to this area before so we were hoping for a bit of good luck. The beach we ended up going to was a beautiful long beach called Banna Strand.
Passing Time and Searching For a Spot
As we had a few hours to kill before sunset, we decided to take a walk along the beach and search for a spot where we could settle down and get some photos for the evening. As it happens we both had different ideas of what we wanted. Kathryn wanted to stay up in the dunes and I wanted to be down by the water. Once she had found her spot I left to attempt to find my own area.
I wasn’t too picky with my spot. I mainly wanted to be close to the water to try and get some nice reflections and some images where the water was receding. The closer it got to he sunset, the nicer the sky got. It seemed to get better by the second.
As the sun dipped below the horison the colours in the sky quickly changed. Pink and magenta started to creep into the sky and the scattering of clouds.
Before I packed up for the evening I attempted to use a pile of stones to try and add some foreground interest to the image.
